Revelation
I haven't posted anything in nearly 4 months! Go me. | | Saturday, November 1st, 2008 | | 12:56 pm |
Wow, I haven't posted in like a thousand years. Three things should be noted today: 1. I had to end the lesson of my student Cohen, aged 10, early the other day because his bum hurt too much to sit down. I didn't ask, but it seems that his brother has been kicking him in that area. 2. I tried to play solitaire on my computer's calculator last night. That should give you some idea of how tired I am these days. 3. Yesterday I was hopelessly confused by my calendar, until I discovered that it has the 16th of November printed on it twice (the second time it's instead of the 18th.) That is all. | | Tuesday, December 11th, 2007 | | 4:03 pm |

Christmas! All right, my little adorablenesses, here are the possible dates for a Christmas parteh (at my house?).
December 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23.
Events to include: games, beer, candy, gift exchange, chocolate, silly hats, wringing out the mouses, pizza, folk dancing, etc.
Who's in? Pick your preferred date. Come on, now. You can do it. I know you can. I've seen you do more difficult things.
Now, here is a little poem to help get us in the Christmas spirit. Not entirely composed by me, but some with significant changes to the original.
The Christmas Fairy
I sit atop your Christmas tree, An angel, pretty as can be. But why do I appear so glum? The sprig of spruce stuck up my bum!
And a classic Christmas carol. I love the Bruckner horn section, and the piano/glockenspiel arrangement for the chorus.

VSO!
I'm excited. The VSO finally called me last night to sub in for a couple of concerts, Nov.10 and 12. It's an all Russian program, featuring Caitlin Tully in the Tchaikovsky violin concerto and Prokofiev's Cinderella Suite (which I don't really know and is probably difficult.) I guess I should start practicing again, eh? I'll have to move some students at Prussin to make the rehearsals, though. They just keep piling them on. I'm currently up to about 17 students over two afternoons. Not that I'm complaining, though. I like my $tudent$. Looking forward to seeing you all at Dentry's tomorrow night! | | Friday, October 19th, 2007 | | 9:53 am |

Hello all, Many thanks if you've already filled out my survey! If you haven't, you still can! It's really fun and easy! Thanks! | | Monday, October 8th, 2007 | | 7:14 pm |
Seattle and SURVEY!
Hello all, I'm from a fun and beer-filled weekend in Seattle. Well, actually the beer was mostly Nick's doing. We both spent far too much money and had a great time exploring all the things that Seattle has to offer, including the wonderful Pike Place Market, a Seattle Symphony concert, shopping for CDs at Silver Platters, marveling at all the weird characters who live in Seattle, getting around on public transport and generally just being silly. I think we went to at least 5 different beer bars, and Nick, as usual drank around four times as much as I did. I need your help again, dear friends. I'm designing a website for a course, and I would like a little feedback about what you consider to be important in this particular website. It's a website for me and all my cello activities! The survey is only eight questions long and will take approximately 2 minutes to complete. Thanks!

School project
Hi folks. I need your help with an assignment for school. Here are the directions. It would be great if I could get at least three responses. This is actually kind of fun and shouldn't take too much time. Thanks! - Quickly list out examples of each category below – try for a dozen each.
- Musical instruments
- Flowers
- Composers
- Crime
- Human rights
- Dance
- Sciences
- Games
- Religions
- Romantics
- Then, in a separate list, rank your examples in order of how typical they seem to the category.

Snicket and Games Night More words of wisdom from Horseradish: Bitter Truths You Can't Avoid by Lemony Snicket (I'm just slightly obsessed with this delightful little book).
There are times to stay put, and what you want will come to you, and there are times to go out into the world and find such a thing for yourself. Deciding whether or not to trust a person is like deciding whether or not to climb a tree, because you might get a wonderful view from the highest branch, or you might simply get covered in sap, and for this reason many people choose to spend their time alone and indoors where it is harder to get a splinter. Everyone, at some point in their lives, wakes up in the middle of the night with the feeling that they are all alone in the world, and that nobody loves them now and that nobody will ever love them, and that they will never have a decent night's sleep again and will spend their lives wandering blearily around a love-less landscape, hoping desperately that their circumstances will improve, but suspecting, in their heart of hearts, that they will remain unloved forever. The best thing to do in these circumtances is to wake someone else up, so that they can feel this way too. Having an aura of menace is like having a pet weasel, because you rarely meet someone who has one, and when you do it makes you want to hide under the coffee table. ---------------------------------------- ------------------------ Games NightGames night at my place, Friday evening anytime after 6! Who's coming? I would like to play the Make Your Own Cards game and/or Carcassonne (spelling?). I am also considering getting some pizzas or a sushi platter for y'all, so please let me know which you prefer and what kind (veggie sushi, veggie pizza, etc.). I am located at 4th and Blenheim, in the same block as Nevermind. |
